Men's Fashion/Clothing/Shoes thread

I wanted to mention this great sale at Jos. A. Bank for anyone who is looking for suits. 40% off the 1st, 60% off the 2nd, 70% off the 3rd, 80% off the 4th. If anyone needs to create a wardrobe from scratch, you can get 4 suits for the price of 1.5.

And since since several threads have been started seeking advice when interviewing, etc., I figured a thread dedicated to the general subject would be a useful resource, so here it is.

As a note, I'm definitely buying this suit, because it's something Don Draper would wear and I'm a follower...

Edit: As a note on the sale, the website's shopping cart doesn't seem to be working correctly, so if you take advantage, figure out what you want and then place the order by phone.

I thought Don was a three-button guy, but clearly I was mistaken:

I DESPERATELY need some new shoes.

That's a 3-button in that picture; he just has the upper button unbuttoned because the lapels have a soft roll. He does wear 2-button suits as well though (especially starting in season 4), and personally I'm looking to add a new 2-button, so that's what I'm getting

OK...there you go.

I always thought you buttoned the TOP button, regardless.

By the way, whisky + office = awesome.

It was very popular to do so in the late 90s, but I nearly always like to let her roll.

It's either or. With lapels that have a soft roll, it's almost universal to leave it unbuttoned (because things get bunched with the soft roll). With sharp lapels, it's more common to button it.

Some folks will tell you to always leave the top button open, but those people don't include these guys...

And those two know something.

Does it end at four suits? At that rate, an infinite number of suits would be free.

Or something.

Looking at the link KK posted, you're SOL. The trousers only go up to 42" waist size.

Do all of you know your exact sizes? I'm always very cautious when ordering online. Usually my jackets are a size 52 (not sure if that's a 52 in the US as well...) but when I go out shopping not all 52s appear to be created equal...

Well maybe they'll have a senior citizens discount for you since I can't make a purchase.

It caps at 4, but that just means 5 is also 80% (or at least it should be, the shopping cart has it at 70% since it's not working quite right).

I'd make next week suit week, but I have cut my suit collection from 7 to 1, so it would need to be a short week. I almost bought a few last week, but opted for a few sports coats instead.

You only have one suit?

On a side note, I used to dress nicely (slacks, button up, oxfords) on most days and my friends would see me after work. There was this one girl who always made comments about how I always wore a suit when she saw me. It would drive me absolutely bonkers because I was clearly not wearing a suit.

Just ordered this suit. The company is essentially "almost-bespoke" and I don't know that I've found a bad review yet.

GAH! For some reason I seem to be skipping words today. Fixed it:

I really need a new suit, two more ideally. But its a terrible time for the outlay of the cost for me right now, which makes me sad. Because I've had a few "suit weeks" recently.
