The Offical 2018 GTG Planning Thread

Since it is already being discussed, lets unbury it from the other thread and discuss ideas, plans, venues, etc. here.

So far these places and timeframes have been discussed:
Cincinnati - TBD
Cleveland/Rock and Roll HOF - TBD
Orlando/Jax - April-May

For what it's worth....I thought the RNR HOF was a bit of a let down when I went two years ago. But I'd hit the air and space museum like a mother fucker.

FYI, please don't take offense if I'm not able to make all of the GTG's. Would love to, but only have capacity for a couple vaca's per year. I'll do my best.

Beach house in Malibu.

It'd probably require folks to make it part of a larger vacation, but there's plenty of ways to add on (National Parks, the Bay Area, SD, Disney, etc.).

I would be exceedingly down with GTG on the beach in Malibu followed by camping Sequoia or Yosemite with the outdoorsy contingent.

This could work for us as Carl has to go to his head office in San Jose every so often and I go with him when he does (I get a vacation whilst he works ) so could potentially tag one on to the other.

Autumn is good as I don't usually have work in September, but I'm not sure I could afford another trip this year!

Outside chance, but I'll be in the USA from ~20th of December to the ~20th of January. So if there's one then I can make it.

I'd be down for one in California for sure. Probably the most convenient option for me- either Nor Cal or So Cal. My fiancee is from LA so Malibu could work as part of a trip down there.

Portland could be fun too and would be another one that wouldn't be hard to talk my fiancee into. Same with DC as well.
