At this point, I'd support Elizabeth Warren despite the fact that she and I have very serious philosophical differences.
I just like Elizabeth Warren because she talks about powerbombing Wall Street and the big banks. She's not powerful enough to change things, but it's fun to think about.

And she's pro civil liberties and anti police state, that's reason enough for me to support her.

I get my political information from ebassist exclusively.

Sadly, I'm more educated on politics than 95% of the country.

She's interesting and I like her back story, but I have a natural aversion to massachussetts senators after growing up there.

The last thing the US needs is another term with an ideologue at the helm. No thanks to the far lefty. They've mucked enough stuff up in the past 8 years.

Another idealogue?

Obama has proven to be little more than Bush Part Deux with a stupid healthcare plan.

Yup. He's dubya with even less economic sense.

Curios too see what his "legacy" moves are.

His legacy is the Affordable Care Act, a piece of legislation so terrible that it makes a single payer system seem like a great solution to a very serious problem. History will view it differently. He is a pioneer who paved the way for the awesome healthcare system that we will have in about ten years.

I remember him as the piece of shit who perpetuated Bush's broken policies, ramped up drone strikes and executed US citizens without due process.

Yup. To all of that.

But I think he's gonna make some huge moves before he leaves office. The ACA is a piece of shit, but it will be a "legacy" for him. And eventually someone will fix it to be a decent solution. But he also did that really early into his presidency.

I think he's gonna do some other things though. I'm really curious to see who his pardons are. I also think he's gonna work his ass off on the Cuba thing before he goes. That I would actually agree with.

I don't think we'll ever get a modicum of fiscal responsibility, despite the constant pledges we're likely to get from everyone in the presidential race. The last time we had a shred of it was in the Clinton years, when he abandoned his left wing policies in light of a Republican legislature and the two sides managed to work out a balanced budget.

When Bush was elected I thought "okay, now we have a Republican Congress and a Republican in the White House, so we'll get some real fiscal restraint this time" (Clinton vetoed the balanced budget a few times before signing it).

And then...

So, Obama comes in and at least we think it can't get any worse than the runaway spending under the Bush administration....

Oh well.

Yeah. Bush gave a ton of money to failed solar power and let his cronies try to take over or kill off whole industries.[/sarcasm]

Bush did give a ton of money to a failed and even less realistic Hydrogen program that simply funneled tax dollars to US auto makers and oil companies.

Obama didn't invent the game, he didn't even take the game to the next level. He's doing the same tired shit that Presidents have been doing for years.

That guy's only chance to get the nomination is if Democrat PACs fund his campaign because he's great for the DNC in the general.

That's an old picture. He's lost a lot of weight the last couple years.

I still think Christie might be the nominee.

Scott Walker looks good, too. He has continued to win in a blue state, and that's a good sign for the GOP.

His weight isn't what's wrong with him. His problem is that he's a fucking scumbag from New Jersey.
