Thanks for further proof that you're avoiding answering questions properly. You failed to answer my post well before you ever asked about misrepresentation. Now what I would suggest is that you re-read the thread and then come back and answer what I actually asked of you instead of continuing with your present line of BS.

Oh and FWIW, if my posting is a gross "generalization," what does that make yours that I quoted? This just keeps getting better.

Ok, just checked your posts. Maybe I am just above average IQ and should be working as a cop instead of IT, but can you tell me which of these posts is a question for me?

I don't want to leave you hanging, so once I understand what the question is I will do my best to answer it.

Thanks!

You should have the pleasure of dealing with an asshat cop some time. You'll change your mind. If people don't criticize them, they will simply become even more bold and entitled to the power that comes with the badge and the gun.

So....

Many people who "gravitate toward that job wouldn't measure up mentally or emotionally" would still qualify according to BOALG's comment about cops "being held to a higher standard." Now you should think about that in the context that many of these people have a VERY slightly above average IQ. That's not a generalization.

I'd also like you to expand on why people who have guns, badges and the power over the public that comes with those 2 pieces of gear should be emotionally and mentally deficient.

I'm sure crickets will be chirping, because other than doing a quick drive-thru read, you didn't think very clearly when making your initial response to my post. You should only wish you could work at your local DMV.

Ok I will try.

*ahem*

I don't know why people who have guns, badges and power should be emotionally and mentally deficient. Sorry but I just don't have an answer to that. In fact this it the first I have heard of it.

Have you tried google?

Yeah, he was more than a little mad, but I really didn't care. He was endangering the patient's safety and as assistant medical officer, I had command of the scene.

Very interesting response, expecially since that was one of the posts you quoted when chastising t3po regarding my "generalizations." Since you posted early in the thread that a poster shouldn't expect cops to protect them and now you don't know why people with guns, badges and authority should be emotionally and mentally deficient it's probably safe to say that you're full of something.

Oh absolutely, I'm more in disbelief that anyone would do that. It's nice to get a patients wallet when rolling for the board and finishing the secondary patient assessment, but that's not always possible... to just reach in for the wallet on a guy strapped to a board is comically unprofessional and stupid.

One time at the DMV I got treated like shit.

Therefore, everybody who works at the DMV is an asshat.

Yup. Especially after I told him 3 times he could go to the emergency room and get it, but at this point the patient was boarded, collared, and bagged.

He didn't listen well. But he slid face first on gravel extremely well.

I haven't had a lot of interaction with cops (3) but I've always just talked to 'em like I would anybody else (though I try to lay off of the nearly constant sarcasm which is clearly quite easy for me.)

typical response of someone who gives not a shit about the welfare of others...

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I was Protestant.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
I'm one of those people who think the price of freedom is vigilance. I also think that power corrupts.

I also felt like the first two stanzas of that saying are overtly skewed to portray communists and unions as victims, but understand there is likely historical context.

EDIT: Yep. Context.

However, as claimed by Richard John Neuhaus in the November 2001 issue of his blog-like online journal 'First Things', when "asked in 1971 about the correct version of the quote, Niemöller said he was not quite sure when he had said the famous words but, if people insist upon citing them, he preferred a version that listed 'the Communists', 'the trade unionists', 'the Jews', and 'me'."[3] However, historian Harold Marcuse could not verify that interview.[1] Rather, he found a 1976 interview in which Niemöller referred to a 1974 discussion with the general bishop of the Lutheran Church of Slovakia. The 84-year-old Niemöller recalled in 1976:

There were no minutes or copy of what I said, and it may be that I formulated it differently. But the idea was anyhow: The communists, we still let that happen calmly; and the trade unions, we also let that happen; and we even let the Social Democrats happen. All of that was not our affair. The Church did not concern itself with politics at all at that time, and it shouldn't have anything do with them either. In the Confessing Church we didn't want to represent any political resistance per se, but we wanted to determine for the Church that that was not right, and that it should not become right in the Church, that's why already in '33, when we created the minister emergency federation (Pfarrernotbund), we put as the 4th point in the founding charter: If an offensive is made against ministers and they are simply ousted as ministers, because they are of Jewish lineage (Judenstämmlinge) or something like that, then we can only say as a Church: No. And that was then the 4th point in the obligation, and that was probably the first anti-antisemitic pronouncement coming from the Protestant Church.
