It's not considered unreasonable due to implied consent.
To quote the late Ted Kennedy: "Era era era"

Implied consent is absolute bullsh!t! Said consent is extracted under real duress and therefore is not lawful.

This is something concocted by lawyers to strip people of their rights for doing things that they must do to survive. Null and void.

According to you and I......yes. According to the SC.....not so much. Driving is a privelege (at least here on Colorado) and not a right. At all. Take it from someone who has lost that privelege 6 times now.

And, in all honesty, you don't have to drive to survive. Sure makes it a hell of a lot easier though.

Look at the date the thread started. This was back in the golden age of Boalg Trolls... Not in his waning after years.

Edit: Oh, and did you see the story about the female officer who chased a speeder down in a Zcar and it ended up being her coworkers pranking her and they got out of the car laughing, just like the scene from Super Troopers? The two in the front seat were fired and the one in the back of the Z was put on leave....

Deputies Shoot and Kill Man After Knocking on Wrong Door

http://www.wesh.com/news/central-flo...g/-/index.html

<snippet>
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. -

Lake County Sheriff's Office deputies shot and killed a man they assumed was an attempted murder suspect on Sunday, but they now know they shot the wrong man.

In the early-morning hours, deputies knocked on 26-year-old Andrew Lee Scott's door without identifying themselves as law enforcement officers. Scott answered the door with a gun in his hand.

"When we knocked on the door, the door opened and the occupant of that apartment was pointing a gun at deputies, and that's when we opened fire and killed him," Lt. John Herrell said. "Even though this subject is not the one we were looking for when he opened the door. He was pointing the gun at the deputy and if you put yourselves in the deputy's shoes. They were there to pick up someone who was wanted for an attempted homicide."

Officials said the deputies did not identify themselves because of safety reasons.

Deputies thought they were confronting Jonathan Brown, a man accused of attempted murder. Brown was spotted at the Blueberry Hills Apartment complex and his motorcycle was parked across from Andrew Scott's front door.

"It's just a bizarre set of circumstances. The bottom line is, you point a gun at a deputy sheriff or police office, you're going to get shot," Herrell said.

Residents said the unannounced knock at the door at 1:30 a.m. may be the reason why the tragedy happened.

"He was the wrong guy and he got shot and killed anyway. There's fault on both sides. I think more so on the county," Ryan Perry said. "I can understand why he [the deputy] did it, but it should have never gone down like that," Perry said.

So, a guy living in a bad neighborhood comes to his door armed because someone knocks in the middle of the night without identifying themselves. He opens the door, cops see the gun, and he gets shot dead.

The cops admit it was the wrong dude, but are like "oh well, he was pointing a gun at us (only their word on that) so we killed him." Nevermind the fact that the guy never did anything wrong and they didn't even identify themselves as LEO.

Guess what is still breathing and opens the door to no one at 1:30 am without knowing who they are and why they are there.

The cops fucked up, but the dead guy was a moron for opening the door. If there's justification to be holding a gun, then there is no reason to open the door. He doesn't deserve to be dead for being a moron, but good people have died for less.

^^^No doubt it was an incredibly foolish thing to do, but the cops still murdered the guy.

In other news, they released the security camera footage of Minneapolis SWAT team Sgt. Clifford sucker punching a guy in the face at a bar-restaurant. They've also upgraded his charges from 3rd to 1st degree assault.

Video here (altercation takes place in lower right hand corner):

You have to be a real sociopath to become a district attorney...

http://www.twincities.com/localnews/...y-will-get-new

In short, a 17-year-old girl gets knocked up, no one knew she was pregnant, then she craps out the kid while she's home alone. She panics, stabbing the baby over 100 times and throws it in the trash. She ends up going to trial and gets convicted, and the judge (who also delivered the verdict, since she waived her right to trial by jury) sentences her to life without parole.

She's getting a new trial because of the shenanigans of the County Attorney and other involved agencies.

Some highlights...

The issue arose because a forensic pathologist scheduled to testify on [the defendant's] behalf withdrew at the last minute after Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom sent threatening letters to her boss.

In addition, a forensic expert who consulted for the defense did not take the stand because she was barred for testifying for any defense attorney in the state as a condition of her employment with the St. Louis County medical examiner.

Well, I was going to testify at your trial, but the prosecutor threatened to get me fired if I did 'cause it would hurt his chances of getting the conviction he wanted.

It's not exactly objective.

"other examples of paramilitary police excess"? Really? There's an objective standard for measuring that?

Hahahahahahahaha. They included the few SWAT team raids in Minneapolis when the fools accidentally tore through the wrong houses. Umm, sorry, we were supposed to be next door.

This entire thread reminds me of a conversation I had with a guy when I told him about a friend of mine that got into a car accident.

Him: I bet he got a ticket too, Cops are fucking assholes.
Me: I dont think there were any tickets, at least my buddy didn't get one
Him: Thats because cops are assholes
Me: They are assholes because he didn't got a ticket?
Him: They are all assholes, somebody should have gotten a ticket
Me: I am pretty sure he didn't get a ticket but don't know about the other driver
Him: If they didn't give somebody a ticket that's fucked up, but cops are still assholes
Me: ...

I don't talk to this guy often, not much point in trying to converse with a plank of wood.
