Then there are the foreign students that get student loans, get credit cards, run up debt, and simply leave the country after graduation. Poof! They are uncollectable.
See that every day.

Yesterday, while listening to an interview with Chris Anderson, Author of "Makers: the New Industrial Revolution", I heard about an App called "123D Catch." This free app from Autodesk allows you to use a series of photographs of an object taken at various perspectives to automatically create a 3D model of that object. This model can then be refined in their online web app.

In other words, it is a 3D scanner you carry around in your pocket and it is free. Check it out in this video:

Having spent some time messing around with the mobile application and the web-app editing software, I can tell you it does work as advertised, but it is quite finicky and the conditions and technique used are quite specific. Check this video out to get the best results before you get started:

I'm working on a product idea in which 3D scanning is a critical part of the process. In proving out my concept I went to a special facility in Pewaukee , WI where we used a giant arm with a laser scanner to scan a part for use in creating the product. It was both inconvenient and expensive.

I've already been able to do a rough reproduction of that work using this program, and that is a huge step towards possible commercial viability.

Happy Scanning.

If those are packages that contain the amount of sugar in each drink, its exactly that kind of display that I saw displayed in a school health center back in '05 or so that motivated me to wean off of sodas/sweet beverages. Felt great and I don't miss 'em one bit.

Grabbed it off facebook; can't vouch for accuracy. But the amounts would not surprise me.

Yes. And I have collected from them through the embassy as well.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not considered acceptable in most countries to do that shit.
