If Razer can get game creators on board with their switchblade UI, it could spawn some cool stuff! I like the idea, although, like niomosy said, typing (and mousing since it's to the right instead of below the spacebar) could be wonky.

Still, at least someone is willing to go beyond the norm and try something new.
Well, honestly, I can't imagine many people will be gaming with the track pad unless they're stuck somewhere with no place to put a mouse (or forgot it, etc.).

Still, it seems like it the layout may take a little getting used to. Perhaps those already using the odd-layout gaming keyboards will have fewer problems adapting.

I'm making my first foray into game design. So far, I have three potential winner ideas that need to get researched to make sure they're not unintentional ripoffs of others.

One of them has been cleared so it'll start getting fleshed out over the next few days. I'm pretty excited about it!

It's Razer's "PC GAMING IS NOT DEAD" gamer laptop. It's basically the device based on the ad posted from Razer in the WSJ about PC gaming not being dead.
Ah. I never really warmed up to the specialized control devices so can't imagine this would be much different.

In other news, Avast was causing my L4D2 problems. It's usually so good at being in the background and not interfering that I didn't even think about it.

Yes, it is. It's a card game, specifically a card-based drinking game. I'm about 25% done with the outline, then I need to prototype it for playtesting.

There are two or three more ideas behind it.

Loved it at first, but got frustrated with all the one hit-yer-dead bosses that take 20 minutes of replay time to get past.

Yeah I petered out about 3/4 of the way through myself.

The FIFA 12 demo is pretty awesome.

Right on. I was late, too. Got it for free on Steam?

One of my new favorite games, but I was expecting it to be a little harder. Finished the advanced maps in about 30 minutes.

Dang. It was free till the 20th, I think.

It was more of a casual experience for me. It pretty much consists of levels and puzzles, so I didn't have to spend too much time playing it.

In Portal 2, you no longer have to do it by yourself!

Does this include level 18? IIRC, that level went on forever.

It takes that long to complete the storyline; that's not all there is to the game though. Gold on all challenges? You're likely playing for 100+ hours.

I don't know. I guess? Start to credits was only a few hours. If I missed some side level inbetween then

Why would I spent 100+ hours playing a game that only takes 3 hours to beat? Sounds like a boring waste of time.

Were you drunk at the time?

I finished that about a week and a half ago and didn't have any issues following it. I did read up on the storyline for Assassin's creed 1 (I never played it), so that helped me understand it more.

No, I didn't have a problem following it, it was just surprising.

She started talking about how he was only a vessel for the prophet, and I was like OH SHIT, then the "I'm talking to you, Desmond!" *credits* as the end. Really interesting, open ended way to take the story at the end of the game.

So not having read through the whole thread, has anybody bought/played Gears of War 3 yet? That's one I've been looking forward to for awhile now, especially after GOW 2

^ Okay (I see you edited your original response to that cartoon). I mean yea, it's pretty common sense how GOW 3 is going to be after the first 2, but I was just asking anyway. There was definitely highs and lows within then Halo series for one but I guess most shooters are what they are...
