Unhappy What's your take on the Geert Wilders thing?

Here's what I've seen on it:

What about him, specifically?

I think Fitna should be prescribed by the NHS as a cure for insomnia.

Not specifically him, but the trial and the charges. It sounds malevolent but I don't know much yet.

Oh right.

I'm not Dutch, so I don't care.

Interestingly: death threats followed LiveLeak posting Fitna. Ironic that a movie about how an ideology promulgates itself on violence is threatened with violence so that said ideology can promulgate itself:

It's sickening, at least from an American standpoint. The fact that he would be prosecuted for doing what he did is a horrific violation of his free speech rights... or it would be, were he an American citizen making that film in the states. I would hope that another western nation would view it in the same light, but I guess that's just not the case. I know that the Netherlands have a fast growing Muslim population, so perhaps that plays a part.

Either way, it's total cowardice on the part of the Dutch government.

Canada has hate speech rules on the books as well. People can press charges anytime they get offended by what someone has to say.
