Just curious as to how many of us are still playing...
Since the original group fell apart I moved on to the cover band which subsequently imploded (sheesh, maybe its me?) I have hardly touched my bass in months. I pick up my guitar at least once a day but my bass playing has been really a low priority.
So, have you hugged your bass today?!?

Gonna hug my new Lakland this afternoon when Brown delivers it :D
Trans blue 55-94 with a maple neck. Gard says the thing's got DR Black Beauties on it.
And yes, there will be pics.

I played for 10-15 minutes last night. I pick up a bass everyday, even if it is only for a couple of minutes.

I've been writing and demo-ing tracks for the last few weeks so i've been putting in 30mins of 'practice'/noodling and however long it takes to make a bassline or two work out. So i get a good couple of hours in over a day, culminating in a huge recap session at about 4 in the morning.
I hugged my bass before i went to bed last night.
Its been a while, I am on kind of one a leave of absence. I don't know why, just have not had the time or energy to put into it. I will tell ya that it won't be long till its over and I have bass in hand every day again.

Tuesday night. I don't play bass much any more since I don't currently play with a group.
However, I play guitar nightly, sometimes for a couple hours. Through a bass amp.

A couple of days or so.
I've got to play more. At our last gig we played a song so long that both my hands began to cramp.

Good question. Caroline's been learning a lot of new songs, I've been helping out. It's usually quicker to plunk at the keys or pick up the acoustic than it is to unzip the case, find a cord, reach around under the amp, etc etc etc. I need a cheap passive 5-er to keep plugged in and handy...

No, the protools setup isn't really understood well enough and we didn't want to burn the short time we had messing with it. The guitarist is going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, so the drummer and I will meet at the usual time and see if we can't get it down. I've never used it before, but have read the manual. He's used it, but doesn't really understand it fully. I think it's an I/O routing issue that needs to be set up when you start a new session to make it work right...
Now is when I wish I had one of those zoom 4 tracks with the crossed mics for an easy session recording...GAS is a terrible thing...;)

I played for about an hour last night for pretty much the first time in about 5 months, not counting a couple times Joe and I played briefly last fall. Now my wrist hurts. :(
By most people's definition of "playing", I'd have to say somewhere aroud 1978 or so.

Yesterday. I try to play at least some guitar and bass every day. I haven't been really practicing so much recently as writing, although I have been making somewhat of a conscious effort to improve my fretless abilities.

Well, there's your problem. Put the baby down once in a while and pick up the bass instead. :D

Last night at church practice. I am about tempted to plug it in here in a few actually.
When I play my bass should be no surprise, I usually play just about every day. The band thing though is another story....haven't played in a band for a good couple years I'd bet. Playing for church is all I have been doing these days.
