now I am going to come out swinging if you guys clown too much on Journey. While he is smoking crack if he thinks they are worth that much, Neal is a very underrated guitarist. He kicked ass in the concert I just went to.
I think part of the problem is that PRS guitars thinks that their shit smells like roses. All of their stuff looks overpriced to me.

I'll agree with you that Schon can play, Sheepdoggy, but if lug had a theme song, Journey would have performed it.

Schon can definitely play. Terrific guitar player. hell, he was playing with Carlos at like 15 years old.
But that axe is the most overpriced thing I've seen on eBay in a while.

he also used to play with Santana back in the day, and the first couple journey albums were pretty cool rock/jazz stuff with songs like Nickle and Dime, but anything after that is pure substandard suckage.

I really like that cobalt blue color over a figured top. One of my favroite combos.
And PRS makes a damn nice guitar, but it's not a $35,000 guitar, or probably even a $3500 guitar IMO.

I made a guy at work listen to Dragonforce and he told me it sounds like Journey. He also thought that Stratovarius and Iron Maiden sounded like Journey. I'm kind of curious to see what he'd say about Meshuggah and Slayer.
That's it. That auction is too stupid to really acknowledge.

Paul Cacia's "Journey Medley" makes me smile. I mean, Journey as played by 4 trumpeters screaming high notes all day, makes it enjoyable!
But WOW, between the Journey PRS and the Chinese $270,000 bass, I should sell my Cort for $9,000.

No way would I pay $3500 for mine and this it's a Custom-22 with the "10 top" rather than one of the CE's. Their private reserve guitars go for big money as do the Dragons. They're far more than I'd care to pay for one.
The McNaught I got to play was pretty dreamy, though. I wouldn't mind eventually getting one :D

Paul Reed Smith is a genius. Wish I'd come up with the idea of a "luxury" guitar".
He should just diamond-crust one and get it over with. Like the Million-Dollar Bra, for dudes.

Agreed. It's a great guitar. If anything, I think I'd prefer that fat/wide neck but it plays great. It's not a $3500 guitar. Mine wasn't that expensive. I wouldn't have bothered with a PRS at that price and just save for a McNaught or something.
What's sad is that they're getting up near that price now. I'm glad I bought mine a few years ago. I couldn't imagine paying the prices I'm seeing for them now.
