Bleach works great but so does Elbow grease. Seriously though, depending on what it is you can use any number of products to clean your stovetop unless it is a glass stovertop. Comet, a brillo pad or scotchbrite pad all work very well to clean stovetops.

I have this stuff "BAM"
but I usually end up with the brillo pad as well. I was hoping there was an easier way.

I've tried that before. Wasn't real impressed with it to be honest with you.

Your going to think that I am crazy when I say this but it really does work.
soap scum remover. It cuts through grease like it is nothing. I used that on our stovertop the last time I cleaned it and was truly amazed.

Yeah.
CLR is a pretty good cleaner as well. Just be careful, because it's potent. I use Fantastik. It's actually quite good.
I had a floor installer tell me that the new floors these days should just be cleaned with a little warm water and some Ivory dish soap. Their finish will resist pretty much any stain. You just need to keep it clean so the dirt doesn't "wear in".
best cleaner in the world: pipe glue cleaner ( a plummers thing), i think its acetone, but has to be used sparingly, will take majic marker off the sheet rock (then the sheet rock off the walls if not careful)
really though, its great for like a glue spill or somethig like that

Be very careful with organic solvents!! Especially if you have cleaned the surface with another chemical earlier.

difficult and time consuming yes, thankless? I have to be honest in saying that I think it is appreciated.

Peroxide is the best, it breaks the blood down without harming the material. Just pour some peroxide on the spot and let it set for a half an hour. It also works great on chocolate stains too.

No, no, and no. It's a piece of cake and I have plenty of time each day to post on ebassist, play video games, and pursue other things.
How come no mom ever wants to try the Taser Method on misbehaving kids? According to several major police departments, it's REALLY good at quieting people down!
I use it all the time. Works like a charm.

Try some club soda and/or lemon juice. And. If that doesn't work get something from the store specifically designed to get out stains.

If it's white, you're safe.
If it's colored, try the club soda and stain stick.

No not at all, peroxide breaks down organic materials such as blood and chocolate. But it will not harm materials such as cotton, polyester blends.
I use it all the time and trust me if I thought it would harm the material I wouldn't use it. My grandmother told me about this trick.
