We won't keep this around for long, I hope.

This forum started out as a grand idea that was executed kinda poorly because of the "no parody threads" rule.

There are lotsa people here who know lotsa stuff. We've got professionals from just about every walk of life here and they can answer lotsa questions. If you're at least kinda sorta pretty sharp in your field you can start a thread here and folks can ask you questions. Information sharing at its finest :)

Folks, let's keep it reasonably serious in here. Nothing wrong with kidding around but the thread starters need to remain fairly serious, please.

One last thing - threads are owned by yours truly, not the thread starter. If someone else lends a hand in a thread you started if they know their stuff then it'd be a good idea to gracefully accept the input. Let's keep the Q&A in one thread rather than starting a separate thread for each - one area I think this might be an issue is with the computer stuff. Maybe one thread for Windows, one for Mac, one for Linux/BSD. I'll start the Linux thread, all y'all can start the others.

So have at it :D

So, how about un merging the original threads and moving them in here?
Mrs. Tone thought her thread got deleted until I showed her the merged thread.

It's not possible to unmerge a thread - I can move the posts from the merged thread into a new thread if she or anyone else would like to create one. If I create it it'll have my name on it :)

It'd be helpful if you had the post numbers of the posts you want to move in here - the post number is in the top right corner of the post.

It's possible.
It would just be a real pain in the ass to move one post at a time to 4 or 5 different threads. :D
(Believe me I know. Lt tried to do with with 3 different threads once. About gave him a nervous breakdown.)

Not a big deal though.
If those that got their posts merged feel like it, they can start a enw one here.

I've moved the beer one, and the acoustical treatment one. If Juggs starts his, and Mrs.T hers, I think most of the serious stuff will be in here.

Thanks again Allan, I like this idea.

EDIT: Bill collecting moved. I think we just need Marla's housewife thread. Go read the original, it is pretty funny now :D

Wow, it's amazing to see how many views some of these threads have. Most popular are "Housewife", "Dentist", and "Master Brewer"... go figure... :D
