Greetings
Electronics are not my forte so a little help would be appreciated.
I wish to fit a blend pot to one of my instruments so that I can mix between
two pickups without any dropout in level.
I am assuming that I will need a linear pot but is there any ideal
resistance value (or am I barking up the wrong tree)?
Cheers
Pete

you would need a audio taper blend pot with one of the levels having a
regular log and the other level having a reverse log taper. the value
of the pot is up to you. but definatly dont go with a linear taper
pot; that would have the worst instability. make sure though that the
reversed log level of the pot is full on when rolled back. if where
ever you get the pot doesnt lable the pots levels and you get the
reverse and the normal logs mixed up its gonna sound bad, but if you
do you'll know - its easy enough to switch the wires around. Just go
with your ear.

Pete,

If you are successful wiring the blend pot, I will be interested in
the wiring diagram. I have tried several times to wire a 2 humbucker
guitar with a blend pot but have not been successful. Probably a
simple ground issue, but I am not eletronically inclined.

I purchased my blend pot from Stew-Mac.

Good luck.

Pete---just signed on TalkAbout. Found this site which I thought was most
helpful:

and this site for a diagram:

Notice that the volume pot has a bleeder (volume)
kit. This too is readily available on the internet
Good luck!
