fwiw, the filter in those things is the same as in the Maxon AF-9 reissue, which was about $180 last I looked.

Yep, I've got one of these, and I love it. The chorus that Ibanez was doing around this period was one of the best chorus' for bass ever made. The compressor isn't so hot, but it works, and the auto filter is really cool sounding.

FWIW, they also made a 'guitar' version that had a Tube Screamer instead of the envelope filter. Tube screamers being as drooled-over as they are, the price difference between the guitar and bass versions can be a couple hundred bucks.
