I played a Traben the other day...

...a Neo with a big oval, clunky bridge. The hardware was a sort of pewter looking finish. Weird. Anyway, it was at a local store, and after hating Trabens for some time, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. I actually found a four string (the Array) on their site that looks pretty killer.

Oh, and I played a MM Stingray 5 that was used and in IMMACULATE condition-I mean, guys, it looked untouched. They wanted $900.00 for it. If I didn't need another fiver, I would have SO picked it up....

i bet they put you through a killer amp.

ask to try it on a bucget combo amp. i think you'll see the problems with them..

Actually...I played it through a little 10 or 15 watt. I think it was a Crate amp. I know, I know...I hated them for awhile and couldn't stand the sight (or sound) of them. But it looks like maybe...just maybe...they've bumped some things up in the QC dept. Dan and I went store hopping a couple of years ago and we played some. They've left a bad taste in my mouth ever since...but this one was not so bad (i.e. pretty darn cool). And I ALWAYS hated their bridges, but the wicked/metal-looking one of the Array models looks pretty cool, IMO.

I mean...this is not a bad looking bass in my opinion. And if it plays/sounds anything like the one I played last weekend, I would be inclined to buy it:

I still think the bridge is a little overdone on them, buy hey....that's just my personal taste.

Other than that, I think it's a good looking bass and if it played well and sounded good, I'd rock it.
