What do you guys think of this?

I've always like Marleaux's single cuts. Just curious if others thought the same.

I like 'em. I think Marleux makes great basses. Unfortunately, they're impossible to find in the US and too expensive here.

<-- can't get wound up about single cuts either, except maybe Fodera's BeezElite.

Ok, well thats better... I think its probably dependent on the golden mean (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio) proportions-- or maybe its just me. Now if that Fodera was a natural finish...

is there any structural or other non-aesthetic benefit to a singlecut design?

AC Guitars single cut really GASed me up:

Taken from their site. It doesn't help he has one bitchen filter preamp too but if I were to purchase a single cut, it would only be from AC Guitars (in bright neon-yellow). Sadly, he's in the UK or thereabouts and it would cost me a fuckton to purchase it.

Wait! You are a WIZARD and a GENIE, too?

In all seriousness, bassaussie, if YOU like the way it looks and plays, then it is the one for you. Don't worry much about whether or not "ezstep" likes it.

That is a natural finish - that wood is holly which is near white and little to no obvious grain to it.

Where can you get Holly wood and how much is it? is it heavey and how does it tool. That looks like a great wood!

It isn't all that rare, just not used that often. It tools wonderfully as it is fairly soft, and it sounds awsome. For as pretty as it is it is a better core wood IMO.

Edit; it prices out at about $10/bd ft - a bit on the high side

Thanks, next time I get to the Minneapolis I will have to look for some.

Holly wood? wormy and diseased on the inside and tinselly on the outside... ;)
