You know, fanned frets are a neat idea, but I think the whole point is lost on a standard-tuned four string, personally.

As for fretless, I guess you'd get used to it...

I think it would be quite difficult to play. On the lowest notes, it would be quite a stretch to put your fingers from fretline to fretline.

Plus, it must be hell on your back to hunch over far enough to look at the fretboard....

As well as me, although I do wish that my fretless didn't have fretlines. That is my only gripe about it. The wieght, fuhget about it.
