Cheeky Guitarist!

I've recently made the weird decision to audition for a local punk/ska band, my old drummer is in the band and I know them quite well.. only I'll be auditioning as their g**tarist :D

*ducks bottles and rotten fruit*

I've just had a phone call from the drummer, and it turns out that the lead singer and guitarist from my old band (remember? the one who was an absolute nightmare and played a large part in me leaving?) has also decided that she wants to audition! AFTER the drummer tells her I'm thinking about auditioning!

Now I don't mean to be arsey.. she is a better guitarist than I am (by far.. and I'm practising every day to get my chops up!) but isn't it a little rude of her to try and get in on the act?

Play your best, and simply refrain from emulating the flying bitch monkey you know your former guitarist will be. Keeping cool and pleasantly social will solve a large part of your (their) problem when it comes time for the auditioners to choose. ;)

Not that it makes any diffference, but the auditions weren't really "open". I saw the band play live, saw the departure of the guitarist, and gently offered my services at the time. They hadn't put up any fliers and weren't asking around... and my former guitarist had no intention of applying and vocalised her dislike of the band.

It was when she found out that I was going to give it a go... that's when she decided she wants to try as well!
